Project Overview
A contemporary version of a a timeless classic.
Cut string staircases were once a prevalent choice in previous decades, and now they have made a stylish comeback as a must-have bespoke staircase design. The defining feature of this style is the placement of the spindle balustrade directly on top of each tread, creating a distinct look. Achieving a seamless fusion with a continuous handrail is a challenging undertaking that demands meticulous CAD planning and intricate production techniques.

FEATURE
Curved & Continuous balustrade
Fluid curved forms in a square opening - an interesting brief.
Mr. Smith's spacious entrance hallway offered ample room for a grand, sweeping staircase. Typically, curved details are associated with freestanding staircases, but in this case, as the staircase gracefully winds along the wall, we incorporated curved features on the two landings to introduce an extra touch of elegance. The metal staircase journey boasts three distinct twisting points for a truly unique experience.

The Challenge
Continuous balustrades and contrast finishes for a striking finish.
The solid steel structure allowed for a continuous balustrade detail without the need for structural posts in a slimline design. Combined with 40mm Oak treads stained in matte black for a striking contrast against the bright white powder coat, this staircase is truly awe-inspiring.
